Information concerning state, local history and genealogy is housed in the Indiana Room. Materials useful for genealogy and local history are highly specialized research materials and therefore do not circulate. Duplicate copies of some works may be available for checkout. Please check with the Reference Librarian to inquire about checking out duplicate copies.

While we cannot perform in-depth genealogy searches, we do provide reference services through both postal mail and e-mail. Please send genealogy requests to tipton@tiptonpl.lib.in.us. Please provide as much information as possible to assist us with our search. Because we receive a large amount of genealogy requests, please limit the number of obituary searches to 10 at a time. Please allow 2-3 weeks for genealogy searches to be completed.
